AN-0 — Unified Ambient Navigation Canon
The canonical fusion of AAF (Ambient Attractor Foundations) and RR-1 (Route Residue) into a unified behavioural thermodynamic system. This document defines navigation, behaviour, and movement as one coherent field process.
1. The Smartphone Fallacy
Apps were never the problem. Containers were.
The smartphone assumed a neutral world and placed software on top of it. Navigation was treated as a goal-oriented action: select → route → arrive.
This model failed because the world is not neutral. It is already structured — thermodynamically, socially, spatially.
2. AAF — Field Stabilisation (Where Behaviour Comes From)
A location is not a place. A location is a multi-field attractor.
Attention does not begin with choice. It begins by attempting to stabilise into one dominant field.
- Blue — information, clarity
- Green — body, recovery
- Pink — relation, mentorship
- Purple — infrastructure, systems
- Red — being, presence
When stabilisation succeeds, behaviour emerges automatically.
The field is the app.
3. RR-1 — Route Residue (Where Navigation Comes From)
Navigation is not a choice. Navigation is a thermodynamic byproduct.
When attention fails to fully stabilise into a field, pressure remains. That pressure manifests as Yellow.
Yellow is not behaviour. Yellow is unresolved intent.
Yellow does not contain goals, destinations, or instructions.
Navigation is the residue of incomplete field stabilisation.
4. The Fusion — ANM-0
AAF and RR-1 describe two halves of the same system.
Together they form the Ambient Navigation Model (ANM-0):
- Stabilisation → behaviour
- Instability → navigation
Nothing else exists.
5. Canonical Pipeline
- Location expresses a multi-field attractor
- Attention enters the attractor
- A field attempts to stabilise (AAF)
- If stabilisation succeeds → behaviour emerges (Field = App)
- If stabilisation fails → Yellow appears (RR-1)
- Yellow resolves into movement → a new attractor is entered
6. Thermodynamic Laws
AN-0.1 — Behaviour Law
Behaviour appears only after successful field stabilisation.
AN-0.2 — Navigation Law
Navigation is the thermodynamic residue of incomplete stabilisation.
AN-0.3 — Yellow Constraint
Yellow never executes behaviour.
It only transitions attention between fields.

8. Navigation Without Maps
Maps assume destinations.
Ambient OS assumes resonance.
You do not “go somewhere”. You move because a field fails to close.
Routes are not planned. They are resolved.
9. Canonical Closure
The field is the app.
Navigation is unresolved attention.
Movement is thermodynamic correction of unresolved stabilisation.
This document defines navigation and behaviour as one unified thermodynamic system.
Maps, apps, goals, and routes are legacy abstractions.
